Virginia Duathlon & 5K
Get ready for the 9th annual Virginia Duathlon. We've got a great event in store for you at the historic and scenic Chippokes Plantation park with probably the best duathlon course in the state and a great catered post race BBQ and party. The run course that takes advantage of the scenic and hilly college run trail in the park. show/hide
To go along with the beauty of this run along the James river, under the tall pines and soaring osprey, participants are treated with a 23 mile bike through the rolling rural countryside of Surry County. This course truly is the best in the region. See the newly posted course maps for mor details. For those of you not into biking shape yet, or for those who just don't bike, we have added a 5K run to this year's event.
Dismal Swamp Stomp Half Marathon
Slated for April 17, 2010, the 13.1-mile foot race follows a straight and flat course along the beautiful Inter-coastal Waterway all within the Dismal Swamp Trail Park in Chesapeake. With $4,000 in prize money, the addition of a walking category and the return of the children’s half mile Cub Run presented by Old Point National Bank, this race has something for all running abilities and provides a great venue for a fun and fitness oriented family outing. show/hide
The race will be timed with the Chronotrack D-tag disposable chip. There will also be a kids race and catered post race party with great premiums for all runners, food, and unique awards for age group winners.
